The dualism of light, which encompasses both wave and particle properties, served as the starting point for this work. Thomas Young's double-slit experiment and the findings on interference and superposition of waves served as initial inspiration. The question of aesthetics and the relationship between light and darkness led to the consideration of gray areas and shadows. The connection between light and sand arose from the idea that sand particles can "pollute" pure light and make it diffuse and blurred. The arrangement of sand grains can be compared to the formation of electrons in a double-slit experiment.
